WHERE DO WE LIVE?The Stage" Beautifully directed by Richard Wilson on Julian McGowan's open set, this is an enthralling production with lovely performances by Daniel Evans as Stephen, Adam Garcia as Tyler, Susannah Wise as Patricia, Cyril Nri as Timothy and Noel Clarke as Shed. " Sunday Times" Daniel Evans gives a quietly harrowing performance as Stephen, who loses his rich, laid-back lover (Adam Garcia) because he finally finds Stephen's earnest concern for others tiresome. " Observer" Stephen is nimble-witted, gay, with a social conscience that distinguishes him from his friends. Daniel Evans exudes niceness in the role, his smile a badge beneath which it is easy to glimpse more complicated feelings " Guardian" As the hero, Daniel Evans shows a remarkable capacity for conveying anger though a deceptively beneficient smile " Independent on Sunday" Daniel Evans inhabits the character of Stephen (as he did in Shinn's previous play, Other People) with sublime assurance. Intense, compassionate and prickly, to see him destroy the mood of his own house party with an argument about welfare reform is to see realism and political engagement coalesce to the point of embarrassment.
